We have suspended in-person Meetings for Worship until it is safe to meet again in person.
Red Cedar Friends has envisioned several ways of keeping Friends connected as a beloved community. We now offer worship via Zoom both at 10:30 a.m. on First Day and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and these will continue until we can return to the meetinghouse.
Any parents of young first day students (6 and under) and those who care for them in the corner classroom are invited to join the RCF Zoom link at 10 a.m. each Sunday to say hello and reconnect with each other. For those who wish to stay on Zoom for 10:30 worship, you are welcome to mute your microphone and worship with all Friends.
We also have an Everyday Café meet-up via Zoom each day at 5 p.m., where Red Cedar Friends can chat about their day or whatever may be on their minds.
For RCF Facebook users, we have the Social Hall, where we post announcements and share personal news or reflections. If you are seeking resources—whether Quaker or secular—we have a special COVID-19 Resources page on this website. We continue to send announcements directly to RCF Friends’ email accounts.
And creativity is flourishing. One Friend has offered online live concerts of her original music; another is planning a class to explore such poets as Walt Whitman and Mary Oliver; and there is even an intergenerational RCF talent show in the offing.
We also want to nurture person-to-person connections as we are sheltering in our own homes. Worship and Pastoral Care has created a plan to ensure that each of our Friends has the opportunity to receive a phone call at least once a week by another Friend from Red Cedar.
