Green Pastures Spring Gathering, May 20, 2017

The Green Pastures Quarterly Meeting (GPQM) Spring Gathering will be held at Friends Lake, near Chelsea, Michigan, on Saturday, May 20, 2017, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Friends, you’re are all invited to this spring gathering at beautiful Friends Lake! Let’s enjoy this opportunity to meet and get better acquainted with other Friends in Michigan.

In the morning, we’re planning a program that will allow us to continue our exploration of the topic and the question posed at the midwinter gathering held last February at Red Cedar Meeting, hosted by Detroit and Birmingham Meetings, and led by Pam Melick and Marvin Barnes.

The topic was racism in our Quaker meetings and the question was “Why can’t we be F/friends?” On May 20, we plan to hold a panel discussion among Friends who attended the February gathering, who will briefly reflect on their experience and share their thoughts on “Now, what?”

Those who would like to be members of this panel — we’re looking for no more than five Friends–should let Clerk Raelyn Joyce (raejoyce10 [at] gmail.com) know.

In the afternoon, we’ll have our meeting for worship for the conduct of business, after lunch provided by Ann Arbor Friends, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. An important report from the transitional Friends School Board will be on the agenda.

RSVP is not required, but if you can let Raelyn know that you’re planning to come, that would definitely help with food preparations.
